Why do I love to do and receive a body massage? 

​I believe you will agree with me that the physical touch is very important? And, yes, it is important from the point of making contact. It is very soothing and relaxing, and also brings sense of peace and relaxation. 

For exemple babies love the cadle and to feel mommie's touch. Brings them comfort and security. Young children they also love it, as this is way to prove they are loved and accepted, also protected. And it is so natural to massage babies and children. Massage brings instant relaxation and makes them to fall asleep.

It is the same with the grown ups. The only difference is that growing up we often for variety of reasons we lose the desire to be touched. 

Do you know that in Hawaii in the past if someone get sick they take that person to the temple and start treating him/her with massage and herbs? And leave them in the temple until they get better. 

Also in India, massaging shoulders and head is something normal in their big families. This is how Indian Head Massage is born. 

What massage does? Increases blood flow to the targeted muscles. It speeds up the delivering oxygen and nutrients, so they need to function properly. Also speeds the removal of metabolic waste/toxins via the lymphatic system, because they are cause pain and delay recovery. If we don't move around much during the day then blood flow naturally slows down.

Massage also brings relaxation and normalization of the muscle, connective tissue, tendons, ligaments. Soots the nervous system and increase the level of serotonin. Which is a chemical in the body that positively affects emotions and thoughts.

Improves the turgure of the skin, flexibility and mobility and boost the energy flow. 

This is why for centuries body massage is well known and practice from all different nationality & tribes. 

I love massage and this is how I spent over 15 years working as a holistic therapist, running my Spa & Holistic business, helping thousands of people to find their balance, to de-stress, relax and keep healthy.
